Greeting all! I'm back! After more than a week of not blogging, I have returned at last. A whole lot of shit has happened, a lot of it very life-changing. I'll try and summarize it all, but it may be difficult. We may be looking at another 2-parter . . .
So, without further ado . . .
The Official Begninning of the Nick Saga:
Shit, it's been too long since my last post. Anyway, finally got ahold of Nick again the Thursday after my last post. We talked for a little while. He gave me his room number and told me to call that when I got there. But I still didn't have a car. Shit, I'm getting ahead of myself. That Tuesday I asked my mother if I could use the car. She said no, b/c it'd "Put too many miles on it" And she wouldn't budge. So we got into a huge fight, which happened to be, once again, the same day as my therapy session. Funny how that works out. Well, this time mom didn't come in with me, and I just talked about the situation with Sharon. I ended up explaining a lot. The whole situation, in fact, including the turning point evening Nick and I shared. Sharon says that she'd be worried about me if I went, and that she sees good signs and bad ones in the relationship so far. And we identified a lot of stuff to work on next time, which, interestingly, is tomorrow. But, anyway . . . that was Tuesday. As of Thursday, I still didn't have a ride. And I couldn't rent a car because I'm not 25, and I couldn't use the van, and I couldn't rent my parents another van to use, so it looked like I was going to take the bus. So, it was around midnight on Thursday, and I got online to find tickets. They were exdpensive, but I was just about to head down to the bus station to catch the next bus when my brother said that I could "rent" his car from him. So, I got about 2 hours of sleep before I had to get up and go with my brotehr to take his car to various shops to get it checked out. Then I went to work for 8 hours, and when I was doen with that I had to pack and everything. And I didn't end up getting out of the house until 9:30 p.m. when I wanted to be out by 7:00. Grrr . . . So, I headed out on 2 hours sleep in the past 2 days. I had a bottle of No-Doz and a cooler full of Mountain Dew to keep me awake. I got 3 new mix cds made to keep me awake, all full of upbeat, loud, energetic music. They are actually really good. I spent more time than I probably should have arranging the songs so the transitions flow. And, baby, they flow nicely. It's like they were all meant to be played in that order. I kick ass.
The trip there was fairly eventful, even though I was by myself. As soon as I got into Iowa I came across a freshly killed deer splattered all over the road. That woke me up . . . I got pulled over by a cop in Illinois. Thank god he was nice and only gave me a warning. And then, after Chicago, I tried to avoid the toll roads to save money, and thus got lost in back roads in Indiana because highway 20 isn't marked worth shit, and is constantly weaving through a constant string of itty bitty towns and doesn't tell you when it turns, so you have to backtrack for miles to finsd the damn thing. So, yeah, I wasn't exactly lost, just, delayed, for about a couple hours. I knew where I was, I just didn't know which road was which because they WEREN'T MARKED! stupid highway 20 . . . So after a couple hours of that shit I decided to say fuck it and just got on the damn toll road and speant nearly as much money as I would've in the first place.
After I passed Toledo, I was about to pass out at the wheel, so I pulled into a rest station and took an hour nap. Then I hurriedly finished the journey and got to Sandusky at 12:15. Nick had to work at 1:00, so I called him immediately, but no one was in his room. So I called his cell. He was standing in front of the park waiting for me with my ticket. I had originally planned to just crash in his room while he was at work, but since he was already at the park, I went. And then had to pay $8 for parking . . . grrrr . . . and I met him at the fron gates and he gave me my ticket and showed me where he was working. Then I asked him if I could go take a nap somewhere. He said I could sleep in my car if I got my hand stamped. So I went back and slept for four hours. Yay for 7 hours of sleep in 3 days! I honestly have no idea how I managed to stand by then. God!
Shit.
I'm tired. And I've only just started. Oh well, I ought to be able to finish this tomorrow night or at least sometime before I leave for Europe. More to come later.
