Wow. What a great day. It really was. Well, it didn't seem like that for most of the day, but the last hour of my birthday definitely made up for the other 23 hours.
Let's see, I woke up late again, so I didn't have time to go get my hair cut. I went to Mega Mart with my mom again, and picked out the rest of my birthday presents: Chicago, and . . . a PS2!!!! I actually talked her into it. I couldn't beleive it. The only condition is that I have to share it with Kelly. Oh well. Not a problem. He doesn't use it much anyway.
Then my mom dropped me off at Steve's, so he could take me to lunch. He gave me a really cool drawing for my birthday and we headed out to China Road. Hong was our waitress again!! Woohoo!! She's the coolest. And she is an adorable Asian lady. She like my man-capris form Europe. She's so cute. And, surprisingly, China Road lunches are very, very affordable. So Hong got a $5 tip, 'cause she's cute.
Unfortunately, that was the highlight for most of my day. I went home and had to wait for 2 hours for my dad to get back with the car so I could go to Dana to buy books. And when I got to Dana, the stupid bookstore was closed, so I had to immediately turn around and head back home. There was still nothing to do at home, so I ended up taking a nap b/c I was so bored. I woke up in time for the whole family to travel to Blair to celebrate by B-day. After a ridiculous time trying to figure out how to put the seats back in the van, we headed out 45 minutes late. So, my Dad didn't get to stay lng before he had to get to work. The entire way there Joel was a creep, and I was forced to listen to Dante's Peak instead of being able to listen to music, which really irritated me. I had that damn DVD player. Every time I ride in it with my family I have to listen to some movie when I would much, much rather be listening to music. Grrrr.
Dinner was ok. But afterwards Kelly refused to let me use his car to get Nick from Ohio, then brought my mother into it, so I had to sit through a 15 minute shouting lecture on how bad of an idea it is, and hor irresponsible it is, yada yada. That pissed me off. Really pissed me off.
So I came home in a bad mood. Real bad mood. Then, when I tried to play my new PS2, the memory card was gone, and I couldn't find it. And Kelly wouldn't pick up his damn phone so he could tell me where it was, which pissed me off even more. So I was ready to kill people when Steve dropped by and took me to Peter's house. Thank god for you Steve. I needed that soooo bad.
I had a blast at Peter's house. It was great to see everyone, watch a bad movie, and fool around for a few hours. Good quality time. And it made up for all the crap that I dealt with. Thanks guys. I needed that. You're all the greatest.
So, I'm 20. Two decades old. Wow. I'm done with a fourth of my life. It's kinda scary. Of course it also means that I can buy alcohol in a year . . . woot. But I don't feel very old. I really don't. All around me people my age are getting married. Hell, even my cousin, who is also 20, got his girlfriend pregnant and is having a baby. This is really freaky. Almost overwhealming. I don't know how I'm going to deal with it when I'm older.
Well, now that I can't go to Ohio, I have $217 to splurge, and I do plan on splurging it. It's my birthday, after-all. So I'm going to be going on a shopping-spree fairly soon. I can't wait. I'll try to save some of it . . . like, $50 or so. I'll try. We'll see how it actually works out.
Well, I have to get up early to go to Dana and buy books before I have to be at work . . . ugh. Better try and get some sleep.
