Well, my fury/frustration of my last entry has, for the most part, gone away. I've gone back to regularly taking my medicine, so now that its kicking in again, the whole situation no longer seems like the end of the world. I can see how over reacting I was. I mean, how are people going to want to get to know a raving lunatic. Anyway, I talked with Sharon, and she helped, as usual. Heck, she went to school to do it, and is getting paid to do it. But anyway, she says I need a montor-type figure in the gay community. A role-model. I think I may have found one, but I'm going to feel things out a bit more before I say anything definite. Awkward situation, really.
Anyway, meeting boys is no longer an obsession of mine. And gay.com no longer feels as trashy. I'm just looking at things differently, really. Heck, the last time I was on gay.com, I actually got a couple of conversations of people who actually wanted to talk, and not just get into my pants! GASP~!
So yeah, focus has shifted. To what? Yeah, that's a good question. I'm just kinda floating along, really. I go to work, I come home. I get on the computer (but even that is now limited after being forced to sell my sister my computer), occasionally play FFXI, then sleep. Then wake up, Burger King, and the cycle repeats itself. I didn't do a single thing on my 2 days off. I just kinda sat around. Lord, how boring. I mean, I have money to go do stuff now . . . but I'm just not . . . Oh well, I guess it gets me to save better.
Wells Fargo is still a piece of shit. They take ridiculous amounts of time to process deposits, but take no time at all to process withdrawls . . . Which leads to lots of unfair overdraw fees. So I transfer money into my account on Wednesday . . . I take money out Friday. Apperantly, it takes Wells Fargo longer than 2 days to transfer money from one of my accounts to the other, so they get to charge me an overdraw fee. Then they charge me a fee for using an generic-non-bank ATM, without warning, which allows them to then charge ANOTHER overdraw fee when the $2 ATM fee goes over my limit . . . And ohhhhhh, no. That's not all. SO on Monday I go to the bank, and hand them my check personally to cash it. It says clearly on the counter that checks cashed before 4:00 will be accredited to the same business day. Yes, it was before 4, b/c I had to work at 5. So, you'd think that after handing them the check, they could, you know, PUT IT IN MY ACCOUNT. ohhhhhhh, no. I try to pay for my Sarah McLachlan concert tickets Tuesday evening, and its declined b/c my check STILL hadn't gone through. Seriously, what the fuck Wells Fargo? And then I get my credit card bill, and there are, seriously, $90 in various fees of which I have noooooo idea how I accumulated. Its a bunch of bullshit, and I'm soooo about to switch banks.
And now for rant #2:
Burger King sucks. More than ever. The Higher Ups are on this customer service kick that is just ridiculous. We all had to go through a training session to train us how to make the customer our "first priority" and how to "make their Burger King experience, an experience they'll never forget" . . . The session wasn't too bad b/c I got to take an hour break from working for it. But the strictness of these new rules is insane. This is Burger King. People eat there to get fast, cheap food. If they want some fancy experience; if they want to be waited on hand and foot, they go to a sit down resteraunt. You see, b/c at those places, they are paying more to get better service. At BK, we're barely able to get more than minimum wage, and now we're supposed to go to all these lengths to treat our customers like gods? You want me to kiss the customers' asses, you can pay me $5 more an hour. God . . . Here are some examples of things lately that have pissed me off:
Apperantly some guy called in to complain that my brother and I were arguing in the Drive through and it was "the most unprofessional thing he's ever seen". Apperantly, my asking my brother which pop is the Dr. Pepper is unprofessional. Seriously, what was up this guy's ass? And then Chad (our GM) lectures Kelly and I on it. Good Lord. It wasn't like we were punching eachother, yelling obscene language, or other things. I was asking him a question! Maybe I didn't ask it in the nicest of terms, but jesus. The guy got his food, and he got it quickly. What the hell does he care?
A coworker, Mike, made a reference to the fact that I was gay while the drive though window was open. Chad told him to be quiet because although we're all ok with my sexuality, some people might not be, so we shouldn't discuss it around customers . . .
Chad recently went out and bought a bag of dog biscuits to give to dogs in peoples' cars in drive through. First of all, I don't get why people feel the need to bring their dogs with them everywhere they go. It's a pet. Leave it at home. And now we're pampering these riduclous people who can't live without their dogs for 30 minutes. I remember when I started, there'd be old people always asking if we gave out free dog biscuits, and it always irritated me. This is Burger King. We server people food here. And why are you asking for food for free? And these people have been asking for dog biscuits till just a year or so ago. And now that we have dog biscuits again, they'll be asking for them for years to come! ARRGGH!!!
And this is what pisses me off the most, even though it doesn't directly relate to customers: we now have to pay for drinks. Funny, because just in our little training session, Chad told us how drinks cost us almost NOTHING, and are pure profit. 2 cents for cup, 2 cents for lid, 2 cents for the pop that fills the cup. The other $1.10 is pure profit. And so, now, after telling us how little they actually cost, we now have to pay for them!? I mean, this is just plain cheap and stingy. I've gotten by for the past week without paying for a drink yet, but its getting more and more difficult. Hell, we even have to pay for the cups that we give to customers for FREE to get water! We have to PAY for those! What the fuck!? If he wants to save money, maybe he should be buying fucking doggie biscuits. Jeezus~!
The above probably doesn't make much sense unless you actually work at BK and know what I'm talking about. And I'm in such a fury at the moment that it probably made the above even more confusing, but . . . LORD! Why is our management treating the employees like shit and the customers like gods. It's so insane! I hate it! ARGH~! FUCK YOU, SIMMONDS MANAGEMENT!!!! GO TO HELL!!!
Ranting complete.
Update's Update:
Ok, so I wanted to add some things I'm actually happy / excited about at the end here, so it didn't just look like me being a whiny bitch. But then Steve wanted me to visit him b/c he was lonely last night. So I went over and good times were had by the both of us, even though he fell asleep. So anyway, here is what I'm happy about:
Switchfoot- They're a band. A DAMN good band. I love this band. After downloading this CD on a whim from Scott's computer while I was replacing my lost CD collection, I hadn't listened to it much. Well, I've been listening to it lately, and I realize how really great this band is. Its rare to get a CD these days where the songs don't all sound very similar. Switchfoot's The Beutiful Letdown is remarkably varied throughout the whole CD. From Rock, to sweeping ballads, to punk, to funk, this CD has it all. And best of all, they actually have a message. They're actually a Christian band, but this is the first Christian band that doesn't beat you in the face with their religion with their music. Seriousy, Buy. This. CD. NOW. You won't regret it.
Summoner- In FFXI I have almost reached my goal of getting my Summoner to level 20 so that I can attempt the solo battles to get the Avatar summons(The really COOL monsters I can summon) I plan on starting them in a few days and I'm SO EXCITED!!!
Sarah McLachlan Concert- I got tickets from e-bay, which is probably evident from my wells fargo rant. But yeah, the concert is on September 4th in Minnapolis. I'm taking a weekend excusion with Joe and whoever we can get to drive us. Joe will spend the weekend with his family, and me and our driver will stay at his house. And the driver gets a free concert ticket to see one of the greatest musicisians ever a mere 15 rows from the stage!!! So yeah, lodging and ticket is already taken care of. Gas expenses will be assitsed with, so that just leaves food and "stuff" money. You know, in case you want to buy "stuff". Yeah, I don't know why I put "stuff" in "quotes" either . . .
Bethany!- is coming to visit this fall! I'm SUPER excited! I can't wait to show her how much Omaha has changed since she's been gone. She'll hardly recognize most of it. And I can't wait to introduce her to everyone at Dana! It's gonna be great! And best of all, getting to spend time with her! Yeah~!!! Plus we'll go clubbing at least once, so, yeah, I'm super excited. Wait, I already said that. Oh well, I AM super excited!
