Heading Out

Well, I'm all packed. I think Joe's packed too. We're just waiting for Kori to get out of Jazz Band and then we're off!! I'm really excited. We're going to have such an awesome time.

I got up today and made it to World Civ again! Go me! But after I got back to my room, Palmer called and told me that I need to be in Voices . . . ugh . . . I was soooo close to getting away with it! So, I went to Voices and sure enough, the first half hour was spent with Palmer talking at us. On the plus side, there are two new students, both named Mike, that allowed me to pass the time drooling over their delicious arms . . . yum . . . oh, and the songs we're singing are actually decent too! So, maybe it won't be too bad.

And the cast list was posted. Contrary to popular expectation, I am not the Cat in the Hat. Joe is. Which means that also contrary to popular expectation, Joe is not Horton. Kirk is. It's all very interesting. Gertrude is a freshman girl I have yet to see, and Mayze is a transfer student who I actually saw in Hair the other week at the Playhouse. Sure, she's good, but b/c of Hair she can't make it to half the rehearsals. AND Doc is giving her $7000 in theater scholarships . . . I get $3500 . . . I'm kind of wondering what is going on? This whole tuition going up, but scholarships not scaling up with tuition kinda irks me. I mean, new students get scaled up scholarships, so why don't returning students?

Anyway, I'm a Wickersham brother, one of the bad-guys, I guess. Its a decent sized part, and I'm content with it. Content, not happy. I won't be so ridiculously busy with this part, giving me time to get my one-act ready, which I am VERY thankful for. Also, I'm hoping that I won't have to be at the saturday dance rehearsals. Or at least not very many of them. But yeah, I am slightly dissappointed I didn't get the Cat. But not because I wanted the part. I just wanted to be the center of attention. It's the Leo in me, I guess. So its not really a big deal, and I know Joe will be amazing. I whole-heartedly support him. So yeah, I can't really think of a better way for the show to turn out. And I only have one more one act to read left. Well, until Doc gets more in. I found another play that's pretty cool, but it requires a cast of 7 guys, which is going to be VERY difficult to do. So I'm thinking that one is a "no". But I'm sure there will be other options.

Anyway, Kori should be here soon. At least she better be here soon. We needs ta get goin'!
