So I was driving in my car the other day, and I heard the oddest commercial. It was for an Omaha Beef game. Now, naming a football team "Beef" seems rather . . . odd to me in the first place. It reminds me more of fat lazy hicks than it does atheletes. Anyway, the commercial was advertising this Omaha Beef game which takes place in the Slaughterhouse . . .
Ok, so Slaughterhouse is definitely an intimidating name to give to your football arena . . . field . . . whatever the hell you play football in/on. But if the Beef are in the Slaughterhouse . . . doesn't that mean that they're getting, uh, slaughtered, or killed, or beaten very badly?
Whoever came up with these names needs to learn better metaphors . . .
But that's not even the oddest thing . . .
So, at the end of this commercial for the Omaha Beef football game, being played in the Slaughterhouse, they announce that at this particular game will be: "The hottest all male spirit squad this side of the Chippendales", or something to that effect.
Ok . . . so this is a football game with hot male cheerleaders? Wha wha wha!? They're advertising this in Omaha, NE? Did I miss something? What kind of football team is this?
SO conFUSED . . . .
Needless to say, it actually made me somewhat interested in attending this game. Not to the point where I would actually voluntarily watch football, but interested me in football more than I ever have been in the past . . .
In other news, I fucked up real bad in a special battle in FFXI. Well, it was really only a little slip of the memory, but it cost me, and my friends a LOT of time and effort, and I feel really stupid about it. I think its time for another FFXI break for a few days.
And I found out that Andy, the really cute new manager at BK, is a smoker. Soooooo, yeah. Sitll a really nice guy, but whatever lingering interest was there is absolutely gone now.
Oh, and Brigit St. Brigit finally announced auditions for Hamlet. They're on the 10th and 11th. I e-mailed the director for info about auditions, so I just have to wait and see what she says.
And, I've finally finished a rough draft of my resume. The 1st step toward getting a real job has been taken! It took me a grand total of 15 minutes. Wow, I could've done that much earlier.
