No, I'm not really mad, just REALLY REALLY EXCITED and possibly dissappointed, but, gaaaah, fuck!
Ok, so last Friday, I was weighing stuff up at work, minding my own business, when this song started playing on the radio. At first I was all, "Wha? Is My Chemical Romance coming out with another album already?", but then I started to realize that it wasn't MCR at all. My new co-worker Tiffany was listening to it as well, and she was all, "Wow, it sounds like a weird mix of Panic at the Disco and My Chemical Romance." And I was all, "Fuck YEAH! That's AWESOM!"
And it IS FUCKIN' AWESOME!!!!
Like, Fucking FUCKIN' AWESOME.
Anyway, of COURSE the radio never mentioned who performed the song, but nevertheless, I had it stuck in my head the rest of the day at work.
The very first thing I did when I got home was to look it up online from the few snippets of lyrics I could remember. I found out it's a band named Ludo, and I found the music video on YouTube.
And the video, while nothing mind-blowing was a really fun video, nevertheless. I think what really made it was the excitement, engergy, and spasy-ness of the lead singer. (That and he's fucking hot as hell).
After wathcing a couple versions of that song, I found one for another of the band's songs- Save Our City.
WHICH IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's about zombies killing everyone in a city (hence why the people want to be saved), and it's just a REALLY fun song!
Anyway, having heard 2 of their songs that are fucking AMAZING, I proceeded to try and hunt down their album all weekend long.
. . .
Walmart didn't have it. Target didn't have it. Borders didn't have it. Nebraska Furniture Mart didn't have it. Best Buy didn't have it.
Finally, while killing time before Eric's b-day dinner, I did some more research and found out that their album doesn't come out until Feb. 26th. . . .
/sigh . . .
But even further further research lead me to the fact that Save Our City is on an album that was released in 2005 called Broken Bride. It's actually a rock opera about some guy traveling through time to save his wife from a car crash, dealing with zombies and pterodactyls the whole way!
FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!
So, since I was unable to find the cd anywhere in Omaha, I settled for downloading it . . .
AND It's FUCKING AMAZING AND FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apperantly it was actually performed on stage in Chicago awhile back. Ohhhh, fuck, I would've liked to have seen that.
Anyway, so I've been listening to Broken Bride constantly. And I can't get that or the single for the new album out of my head. I've been going nuts for the past 3 days, waiting for the CD to come out.
So, tonight, I've been satiating my obsession by looking around on the band's site. Yay! They all have myspace pages! It's so crazy to think that people from such a FUCKING AMAZING band are on myspace! Craziness!
So, yeah, I also found out that Ludo is going on tour to promote their album. They start in their hometown of St. Louis, MO, and then move out from there . . .
They're coming to Lincoln, NE on March 5th . . .
That's the wednesday of tech week for Hatful of Rain . . . so I can't go . . .
BUT I FUCKING LOVE THEM!!! I HAVE TO SEE THEM PLAY!!!!!
So, after tech week is over, where is Ludo?
They're Waaaaaaaaay the fuck out on either of the coasts. There's no chance in hell I can go see them when they're in CA or MA. So, I have to see them while they're still in the midwest, right? And that's, essentially, this week and next . . .
I have rehearsal every night . . .
Well, every night except Sunday . . . I have Sunday, March 2nd off of rehearsal . . .
Ludo is playing in St. Louis on Sunday, March 2nd . . .
I have the entire day off on Sunday . . . Ludo will be playing . . . I will get to see them in concert . . . and it's 7 hours away . . .
and I'll be fucking exhausted trying to make it back to work the next morning. Not to mention, the tech rehearsal following work.
But on top of ALL of that, I STILL REALLY WANT TO GO! Right now, I'm am totally willing to do it.
Provided someone goes with me . . . maybe then I could catch some sleep in the car on the way home and won't be quite so exhausted? Besides, 14 hours in a car is exhausting.
But, I've done it before . . . Yay for spontaneuos trips to Ohio for assholes that ignore you the entire time you're there!
Besides, who do I know who would A) be willing to accompany me on my obsessive, insane journey, and B) not have to be at work Monday morning?
Anyway, I just talked with Mille McTaters, and I've decided to buy Ludo's album tomorrow. Then, I shall listen to it. If, in fact, ALL the tracks are as amazing as the single, and Broken Bride, then I shall resume plans for a St. Louis blitz. If they are not . . . well, then I shall just enjoy what there is to enjoy, and see them when it's more convenient.
But if the album is as awesome as everything else I've heard, hello St. Louis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
